Jack O'Malley
Jack O'Malley worked as a Chicago police officer, assistant Chicago corporation counsel (primarily federal civil rights litigation), associate then partner at Winston & Strawn (litigation), and was twice elected State's Attorney of Cook County. He worked as general counsel of a subsidiary of G.E. Medical Systems and subsequently served a ten-year term on the Illinois Appellate Court, authoring over one thousand decisions. He has served on the visiting committee of the University of Chicago Law School and has taught at Northern Illinois University Law School.
He received his B.S. magna cum laude from Loyola University, attended Cornell University Law School as a Charles Evans Hughes Scholar, and transferred to the University of Chicago, where he was a Mandel Fellow and received his J.D. in 1981.
