Harvey Nixon

Education: Ray Elementary School (Hyde Park) (1945), Hyde Park High School (1949), Grinnell College (1953), United States Navy (1957), Harvard Law School (1960).

Experience: Practiced corporate and securities law 1960 into the 1990s at the Chicago office of Mayer Brown LLP. In 1989 organized and until 2009 chaired its Ethics and Loss Prevention Committee. Also, occasionally taught courses in lawyers' professional conduct at other law schools in Chicago.

Family: His children, Jamin (with his wife; Phoebe, and their three children, Reed, Evan, and Parker), Marian, and Paula, all live in the area, except when the first two grandsons, so far, are away at college (Occidental and Washington University St. Louis). They and his late wife Shellie were all pleased that their husband/dad/grandpa is teaching legal ethics at the University of Chicago Law School, in the neighborhood where he started his education so long ago.
