Martin D. Jacobson is a retired partner of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Mr. Jacobson has a broad range of experience in financial transactions, concentrating on the financing of infrastructure, industrial property and transportation equipment. He has represented sponsors, lenders, underwriters and other credit providers in domestic and international transactions.
Mr. Jacobson is the founding chair of the Project Finance Committee of the New York City bar association. He is a member of the U.S. Department of State Advisory Committee on Private International Law and is associated with the International Law Institute in Washington, D.C. In recent years he has been listed in the Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers and the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, among others
Mr. Jacobson joined Simpson Thacher in 1979 and was a partner from 1984 through 2008. In 2010-2011 he held a fellowship at the U.S. Department of State and was involved in a wide range of international law matters. He received a B.S. degree summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969, an M.B.A. degree from New York University in 1973 and a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1976.
