Martin D. Jacobson is a retired partner of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Mr. Jacobson has a broad range of experience in financial transactions, concentrating in the financing of infrastructure, industrial property and transportation equipment.  He has represented sponsors, lenders, underwriters and other credit providers in domestic and international transactions.

Mr. Jacobson is the founding chair of the Project Finance Committee of the New York City bar association. He has been listed in the Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers and the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, among others. He is a former member of the University of Chicago Law School Council.

Mr. Jacobson joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 1979 and was a partner from 1984 through 2008. He received a B.S. degree summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969, an M.B.A. degree from New York University Stern School of Business in 1973 and a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1976.
