Joni S. Jacobsen, co-chair of Dechert’s Securities and Complex Litigation practice, defends publicly traded companies and their directors and officers in complex securities class action litigation, derivative litigation, and corporate governance disputes. Ms. Jacobsen also conducts internal investigations for public and private companies, boards of directors and special committees, and frequently counsels clients on a wide range of strategic litigation and corporate governance matters. Ranked in Chambers and Legal500, Ms. Jacobsen was named Among the Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business. Her experience extends to a wide range of underlying issues including alleged accounting irregularities, insider trading, inadequate or misleading public disclosures, breaches of fiduciary duties and short-swing trading. She recently founded the Women in Securities Litigation national network, which focuses on collaboration among women in this field, including the promotion of female mediators and experts.
