In 1991 Jason received his B.A cum laude in Psychology from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. In 1996 he graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law where he served as a Moot Court Board member.

For ten years preceding his appointment as a clinical instructor Jason practiced at Forman & Huber, L.C. in Charleston, West Virginia with an emphasis on public interest and civil rights litigation. During this time his clients obtained multiple published opinions concerning conditions of confinement and due process rights for prisoners, 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 claims, the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the constitutional rights of juveniles. In accord with the National Lawyers Guild 1937 Preamble, he continues to work “to the ends that human rights shall be regarded as more sacred than property interests.”
