Thomas Hale

Thomas A. Hale is a Senior Managing Director at Destra Capital Management LLC, an investment firm that manages and distributes mutual funds and other investment products. He joined Destra Capital following 26 years at the international law firm of  Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s Investment Management practice in Chicago. Mr. Hale received his undergraduate degree in Economics, with High Distinction, in 1979 from Northwestern University, and graduated magna cum laude in 1982 from Duke University School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the Duke Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Hale works with Destra Capital’s Chief Investment Officer, marketing and distribution teams, and sub-advisory partners in developing and operating the Destra Capital suite of investment products and strategies. He is also responsible for other areas of corporate development and strategy at Destra Capital. At Skadden, Mr. Hale advised leading investment management firms on developing  and structuring new investment products, operating their investment management businesses, and performing strategic acquisitions and  dispositions. He also represented numerous investment banks and product distributors, as well as sponsors of private investment funds and trading firms, and developed a variety of innovative investment product and distribution structures. His peers have regularly recognized Mr. Hale as a leading lawyer in the investment management industry, with Euromoney’s Institutional Investor naming him one of the best Investment Fund lawyers in the United States.
