Erin Casey has spent her legal career representing lenders in all aspects of corporate bankruptcy cases and commercial workouts throughout the country, as well as in the documentation of asset-based and cash-flow commercial finance transactions. She practiced at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York as well as Goldberg Kohn Ltd. in Chicago, where she was elected a partner in the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights group in 2009. Casey has been a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association, and the Real Estate Finance Forum. She was selected for inclusion on the 2011 Illinois Rising Stars list, appearing in Super Lawyers and Chicago magazines. Casey is a frequent writer and speaker on bankruptcy and commercial finance issues. She received her law degree from the Law School in 2002 and her BA, with honors, in economics, from the University of Chicago in 1999. She has been a Lecturer at the Law School since 2011 teaching both the Secured Transactions course and the Closing a Deal: Structuring and Documentation of a Secured Loan Transaction and Secured Lender Remedies and Workout Transactions seminars.
