Justin Coates
D. Justin Coates recently completed his PhD in the Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Riverside. He primarily works on issues related to reasons, moral responsibility, and the moral emotions. He is currently editing (with Neal Tognazzini) a volume on our blaming practices entitled Blame: Its Nature and Norms (Oxford University Press, 2013). And although his primary interests are at the intersection of ethical theory and the philosophy of action, he has secondary interests in epistemology, metaphysics, the philosophy of mind, and the history of moral philosophy (esp. Adam Smith, Kant, and Nietzsche).
