Robert R. Bianchi
Robert R. Bianchi is an international lawyer and political scientist with special interests in China and the Islamic World. Bianchi completed his doctorate and law degrees at the University of Chicago. He has taught at the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, and at universities in China, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar. He is a consultant to several businesses, governments, and international organizations. He speaks Arabic, Chinese, and Turkish.
His most recent book, Guests of God: Pilgrimage and Politics in the Islamic World, received the Albert Hourani Book Prize Award of the Middle East Studies Association. He currently is writing his fourth book, The Crescent and the Dragon: Islamic Dimensions of China's Great Leap Outward.
