Phil Bach is Director, Forensic and Litigation Services at McGladrey. He was previously Director in KPMG’s Forensic Practice for the Midwest Region.  Since 1999, Phil has been conducting forensic accounting engagements involving government entities and companies in a variety of industries.  Phil was the Midwest lead for the Government and Public Sector Practice for Forensic and he has experience investigating financial statement fraud, employee misconduct issues, embezzlements and other white collar frauds.  Phil was also the leader of KPMG Midwest’s Dispute Advisory Services Group where he works with attorneys and companies providing consultation for litigation.  He acts as a neutral arbitrator in financial disputes between companies and works with clients to design, implement, and evaluate anti-fraud controls.

Phil joined KPMG in 2005 after spending more than six years at a regional accounting firm in Chicago.  During those years, Phil split his time between leading audits in several industries and conducting forensic investigation and litigation support services.  Prior to his work at the regional firm, Phil spent seven years at smaller CPA firms performing financial statement audits, reviews, compilations and preparing tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals.
