Joseph Alesia

Joe Alesia is a Senior Counsel, Ethics & Compliance at Baxter International Inc. Joe’s duties include managing Baxter’s global internal investigations program and assisting with the company’s response to government inquiries. Prior to joining Baxter, Joe served for over seven years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois and for over ten years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Illinois. As a prosecutor, Joe tried over sixty-five cases to verdict in state and federal courts, litigated appeals before the Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals and the Illinois Appellate Court, and conducted hundreds of bench trials and evidentiary hearings. Joe held supervisory positions as a federal and state prosecutor, received numerous awards for his service and was a frequent instructor for the Department of Justice. He graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 1991, and received his BS from Valparaiso University in 1988.
