Housing Initiative Clinic weighs in on Cook County Land Bank Proposal

November 15, 2012

On behalf of the Housing Initiative Clinic, Sarah Iftekhar '14 and Stephanie Yesnik '14 have completed a policy brief analyzing the proposed Cook County Land Bank.  The Land Bank would be a new county-wide entity with the mission of facilitating redevelopment of vacant and foreclosed properties.  A technical advisory panel for the Cook County Board of Commissioners will soon issue a report on how to structure the Land Bank, and the Housing Initiative Clinic Brief provides recommendations to guide that work.

The report on the Cook County Land Bank is part of a larger set of policy projects for the clinic.  The clinic recently launched its series, Housing Initiative Clinic Briefs, analyzing and making policy recommendations on a diverse set of topics that are important to policymakers and the affordable housing advocacy community.  Look for more of these to be highlighted in The Advocate in the weeks to come.
