Congratulations Intensive Trial Practice Workshop students!
Over thirty-five law students successfully completed our grueling Intensive Trial Practice Workshop this September. The ITPW is led by our clinical faculty with support from a select number of seasoned, prominent litigators who volunteer their time to work with our students. During the two weeks of the workshop, students learned trial preparation, trial advocacy skills, and strategy, primarily through simulated trial exercises. Students were on their feet every day delivering opening and closing arguments, conducting direct and cross-examinations of witnesses, working with exhibits, and teaming up on trial strategy. Last weekend, the students did a full mock trial, complete with witnesses, judges and jurors, in the state courthouse downtown. The faculty and outside trial advisors were extremely impressed by the strength of these final performances and by the growth of the students over the two weeks. Congratulations on a job well done!
