2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Take a Walking Tour of Millennium Park, a center for world-class art, music, architecture and landscape design, with a docent from the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Advance registration required. Location: Meet outside of Park Grill - 11 North Michigan Avenue.
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Relax at the Alumni Wine Mess with classmates, faculty, and students. Alumni from all class years are welcome to attend. Devil in the White City Bus Tour of Hyde Park and the South Side. Erik Larsen’s book “The Devil in the White City” brings the 1893 Columbian Exposition to life. Tour some of the sites and learn more about this influential period of Chicago and Hyde Park history. The bus tour departs from the Law School. Advance registration required.
Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House Tour. Tour this historic landmark with a guide from the Wright Preservation Trust. The group will meet in front of the Law School and will proceed to the Robie House, 5757 South Woodlawn Avenue. Advance registration required.
Smart Museum of Art Tour. Explore the Smart Museum of Art, which houses a permanent collection of over 10,000 objects, spanning five millennia of both Western and Eastern civilizations. The group will meet in front of the Law School and will proceed by bus to the museum, 5550 South Greenwood Avenue. Advance registration required.
Oriental Institute Tour. Visit the Oriental Institute, a world-renowned showcase for the history, art, and archaeology of the ancient Near East. The museum displays objects recovered by Oriental Institute excavations in permanent galleries devoted to ancient Egypt, Nubia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Anatolia, and the ancient site of Megiddo, as well as rotating special exhibits. Advance registration required.
