Chicago Inspector General David Hoffman said today he is resigning his watchdog role to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.

Hoffman told the Chicago Tribune that he is resigning officially today and told Mayor Richard Daley of his decision on Tuesday. He declined further comment.

Lisa T. Scruggs has been appointed a member of the American Bar Association's Book Publishing Board and the 2009-2010 Section of Litigation leadership for a one-year term that commenced with the adjournment of the 2009 Annual Meeting.

Peter Langrock was honored in June at the Best Lawyers 25 anniversary event in Atlanta.

Langrock is among 1,395 lawyers from across the country who have been continuously listed in Best Lawyers. In addition to founding Langrock Sperry & Wool 49 years ago, he is known for his extensive involvement in the community.

Chambers USA annually ranks U.S. law firms based on in-depth telephone interviews with law firm clients and other attorneys. For the current U.S. directory, over 10,000 of these interviews were conducted by a team of 40 full-time researchers over a period of six months.
