Sami Naim was on track to take a job at a big corporate law firm and earn all the prestige that came with it, when he decided to take a walk in the park instead.

“Yeah, the Parks Department,” Naim said. “That wasn’t even on my radar. I didn’t even know they had lawyers.”

The Joyce Foundation last week announced the election of Tracey L. Meares to its board of directors. Professor Meares is Deputy Dean and Walton Hale Hamilton Professor of Law at Yale Law School.

Governor Martin O'Malley today announced the appointment of Ronald S. Goldbaltt, '75, to the Governor's P-20 Council of Maryland. The 2010 legislature codified the Governor's P-20 Leadership Council of Maryland (formerly created by Executive Order 01.01.2007.20), adding new positions to the membership list.
