Thomas Lanctot '79 joins Vanguard Charitable Board of Trustees

Vanguard Charitable, one of the largest charities in the United States and a leading donor-advised fund, has elected Thomas E. Lanctot to its board of trustees. Mr. Lanctot is a partner at William Blair & Company, a global investment banking and asset management firm, where he leads the Infrastructure Investment Banking Group. From his base in Chicago, he assists public, nonprofit, and private sector clients in sourcing capital investment for public infrastructure projects.

Before joining William Blair, Mr. Lanctot practiced law for 23 years, advising clients on transactional and governance matters. Lanctot is a 1979 graduate of The University of Chicago Law School. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.A. from Northwestern University in 1976.

Mr. Lanctot supports Chicago’s inner-city Catholic schools as a member of the board of directors and executive committee of the Big Shoulders Fund. He also serves as a board and executive committee member for the Illinois Institute of Technology; vice chairman and board and executive committee member for the Chicago Botanic Garden; and a director at the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center, an Illinois based medical center that cares for individuals affected by infectious diseases.
