From the summer of 1999 to the end of the Clinton Administration in 2000, James Catherwood Hormel was America's ambassador to Luxembourg, a tiny duchy of 997 square miles wedged between France, Belgium, and Germany.

This fact might not seem so interesting in and of itself, except for one thing.

Rachel Partain, an Of Counsel of Caplin & Drysdale, has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2012 Nolan Fellowship awarded by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation to a select group of outstanding young tax lawyers across the nation.

Blake Sercye, an associate at Jenner & Block, has been named by Governor Pat Quinn to the Illinois Medical District Commission, the seven-member board that oversees development on Chicago's Near West Side. Mr. Sercye was a political director of Rahm Emanuel’s 2011 mayoral campaign and was a field coordinator for Mr. Quinn’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
