A  jury in Multnomah County, Oregon, unanimously awarded $2 million Wednesday to a former foster child (known as B.D.) who was abused and starved for two years while under the watch of state child welfare workers.

President Obama nominated former Federal Communications Commission deputy general counsel Ajit Pai, '97, on Monday to fill one of the two vacancies on the Commission left by Republican Meredith Attwell Baker's departure to join Comcast earlier this year and Democratic Commissioner Michael Copps' eventual retirement.

Lillian O. Johnson has been selected as a “White House Champion of Change.”  Ms. Johnson has for many years been executive director of Community Legal Services, and she is being honored for her life-long dedication to closing the access to justice gap in America.  Ms. Johnson received her J.D.
