Centennial
The University of Chicago Law School celebrated its Centennial in the 2002-2003 school year. The year was marked by a wide range of events, including a lecture series known as "Chicago's Best Ideas," a special commemorative issue of the The University of Chicago Law Review, a special panel of Moot Court judges including Justice Antonin Scalia, a lecture by Ronald Coase on the history of Law and Economics, a dinner honoring our female alumni, and a gala dinner at the Field Museum. A great deal of research was also done into the history of the Law School, including its groundbreaking achievements in interdisciplinary study, clinical legal education and student and faculty diversity.
The Law School created a special website during the Centennial year which has been kept intact for archival purposes. To explore the history of the Law School and the events of the Centennial year, please click here. The site will open in a new window.
