International Law Society
"In today's world, people cannot help but deal with international law." Almost every area of law is affected by the globalization of world economies, and international human rights and environmental issues have become increasingly important. International Law Society (ILS) is an organization for students interested in the many facets of public and private international law. ILS has a strong speakers program, bringing in a variety of specialists, including academics, attorneys, and government officials. ILS takes an active role in the LL.M. program, by administering a mentoring program for the LL.M. students and planning socials and activities, including language tables for J.D. and LL.M. students interested in improving their fluency in second languages. ILS puts together a team to participate in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the most prestigious international law moot court competition in the world. Finally, ILS provides advice and assistance to students seeking work experiences in the international arena. So, whether you are interested in practicing international law, staying on top of international issues, or making friends with professionals and students from around the world, ILS has something for you.
